• Is meamedica|pro independent? Who is responsible for meamedica|pro?

  meamedica|pro is a product of Insight Pharma Services BV. Insight Pharma Services is completely independent and therefore not affiliated with any other party within the medical and pharmaceutical world. Needless to say, Insight Pharma Services BV is NOT sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry or health insurance companies.
  
  Insight Pharma Services BV does enter into partnerships and these will be clearly displayed where necessary. Some examples of collaborations are the development of a dental module together with ACTA (faculty of UvA and VU), the Depression Association, Leiden University, etc.

• What kind of company is IPS?

  Insight Pharma Services was established by a pharmacist in 2008 with the aim of supporting patients in their use of medication. It gives the information surrounding drugs a new perspective by considering the point of view of the patient. The focus is on what really happens during the use of a certain medication and this is what allows the patient to play a crucial role.
  
  This focus is the basis for all activities at Insight Pharma Services and is why we concentrate on medical and pharmaceutical knowledge. Because of this way of working, an investment round took place at the beginning of 2010, enabling IPS to further shape its ideas.

• What is the objective of meamedica|pro?

  meamedica|pro aims to make the connection between the healthcare provider and the patient. The patient remains the owner of his data and he / she easily arranges the accesses provided to healthcare providers. The healthcare provider gains insight into DNA results and medication use and can easily use this data to support and improve the care to be provided.
  
  In addition to reports, meamedica|pro also provides background information on DNA, on (pharmaco)genetic testing and on the interaction with the mechanism of action or the metabolism of a drug. Where possible, graphical representations are used. Literature references are also available so that the healthcare professional can pursue a deeper understanding at all times.

• How is privacy protected?

  meamedica|pro considers the privacy of its visitors to be essential to its activities.
  All data will be placed in a protected database, where medical data and personal data are separated and cannot be linked.
  meamedica|pro complies in all cases with the conditions set by the Personal Data Protection Act (GDPR). See further information in the privacy statement on the website.
  Since February 17, 2017, we are also ISO 27001 certified. Click here for the certificate.

• What is your revenue model?

  Insight Pharma Services BV has made the choice to make the websites with anonymised drug experiences available to patients free of charge. Insight PS generates revenue through the sale of advertising space, DNA testing and analysis capabilities (only after patient opt-in of course).
